Which php version of wamp are you using? Which phTagr version are you using? Do you use the current master of git or the latest from sourceforge (http://sourceforge.net/projects/phtagr/files/latest/download)

Can you copy the image url (right click on an image) and paste it to the browser to show additional errors.

comment:2 Changed 6 years ago by indigo

Hello
PHP version is 5.4 .12
and the version of PHTagr is :phtagr-2.3-dev-df177a0d download sourceforge

If I copy the imageurl with right-click it looks like this for example
http://localhost/phtagr/media/preview/7
and a broken link image is shown not more

Thank you for your fast response

The versions should be fine.

Can you ensure that the debug level in Config/core.php is set at least to 1. Further, please check the log file in tmp/logs/logger.log for any error reporting.

Yes debug level is set to 2

Sometimes the pictures appear in Explorer mode and then they disappear again

in the logger are some errors described... But it's not really helping me
I will attach the logger.log

Ok. I updated my wamp test environment with php 5.4 and might found the causing error.

Please change following file from webroot/index.php line 89

$url = array_shift(array_keys($_GET));

to

$keys = array_keys($_GET);
$url = array_shift($keys);

clear your browser cache and try it again. It helped me to get it running.

Did you cleared your browser cache?

I checked it again with new uploaded photos in IE, Firefox and in Chrome and it looks fine. Can you check your installation with an other browser?

comment:8 Changed 6 years ago by indigo

Yes you are right it works !! :)
I tried it with Firefox.
Thank you very much for your help.

I want to introduce my project in brief.
I have to provide images of buildings and details for my customers.
The images are stored in a simple folder structure.

country/city/address/building

after long time searching around I finally found phtagr
and I think this is the right tool.

About some details questions came up.
Q1:How can I create and handle categories ?

on startpage you have a list of popular keywords and categories.
Q2:For me it would be great to have there a list of all cities which are containing pictures of buildings. Is this feasible ?

Thanks for listening

Kind regards

Manfred

  • Status changed from assigned to closed
  • Resolution set to fixed

Please post such questions to the mailing list phtagr-gallery@lists.sourceforge.net.

Since it is the first time I will answer here.

Thank you that you are enjoying phTagr. I'm happy that you post your problem with PHP 5.4 and I could fix it.

A1: You can create a tag, category, or location details by just assigning them to a selection in the explorer or by assigning them to a single image. If the category is missing, it will be created automatically. See http://trac.phtagr.org/wiki/FirstSteps for further details.

A2: Quick answer: Yes, it is possible.

Long answer: phTagr is an open source project. I write this software in my spare time and opened the source to the public - which is my kind of service. I'm interested in giving help to solve problems/features by yourself and receiving git push requests for feature requests. If you know a bit of programming and PHP it should not be a big deal to change some parts here and there. In this case the best option is to use phtagr directly from git.

Currently I do not offer special service such realizing a feature for someone. If you are not familiar with PHP programming language and you want a specific feature we will find a service-base solution. You can send a request to support@phtagr.org.

Sorry it's me again;
I imported high resolution images via local path
I always got a success message
but some of the pictures are just shown with an error thumb
like in the attached screenshot .

I imported about 300 pictures between 10 and 30mb each

I need high-resolution images because I want that some people can download the high-res data.

Kind regards Manfred

Ohuuu
Just saw your response this minute....
Thank you for that.

And I just found another thing.
I cannot delete a local-path path ... It concerns an error message.
Like:
Not Found

The requested URL /phtagr/admin/users/delpath/2/D:\000000000DATA\bilder\test\klAuflsgJPG\ was not found on this server.

Regarding high resolution images: By default, phtagr resizes images via the GD extension (libgd) which is done in process. While this option is good for common cases it does not work well for larger images, since it consumes to much memory. The better option is to use the command 'convert' from ImageMagick?. Please install ImageMagick? and configure its path in the dashboard system/external programs -> Path to convert and try it again.

Regarding deleting local path: phtagr distinguishes the users upload directory (which is the users directory within the phtagr folder) and 'external paths' - any other path on the system like 'C:\media'. You might reference this as 'local path'. phtagr takes care about its upload directory but tries not to touch the external files as much as possible such as deletion. One exception is the meta data write.

So currently it is the correct behavior not to delete an external path like 'C:\media'. You can 'unlink' the files to remove media files from the phtagr database.

Other notes: users upload directory is exposed by built-in webdav server - external paths not (again, it is not the responsibility of phtagr to give access to files of an external path). However, phtagr offers download of original files of an external image path with explorer links.

Hope this helps. Xemle

PS: Please post questions not to this ticket system but the mailing list where it can be discussed in a broader audience

Yes thank you for your help I will try to get used to the mailing list in future:)

Maybe it's interesting I found out that the resizing is fine up to 17mb ... Then for larger images it fails.

I installed ImageMagick? and configure its path in the dashboard
like: C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageMagick?-6.8.7-Q16
and tried again still the but it seems that the resizing is still managed by GD extention
Hm I will keep on testing
cheers manfred

comment:14 Changed 6 years ago by sebastian

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't notice that your settings of Image Magick was incorrect. Please use the full path with convert.exe like "C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageMagick?-6.8.7-Q16\convert.exe".

I've updated the wiki HowToInstallWamp#ExternalProgramms for this issue.

Thank you.

comment:15 Changed 6 years ago by indigo

hey thanks... Anyway I was abroad for some days to do a job :)
I will keep on testing with large files this evening and report if there is an advantage with imagemagick

But there's one thing I struggle with:
Following situation:
Maybe I have 300 photos and I look through if I can find 20 appropriate pictures for a presentation. so I click through the images and use the green plus button to select some.... So in my first step I may have select around 30 pictures... And I wanted to reduce my selection...

For this I wanted to see only my selected images.
BUT it seems to me that I cannot view only the selected ones! ??

and another problem if I go from one gallery side to the next and back all my selections are gone ??

hm... is this a bug or a feature ???

comment:16 Changed 6 years ago by sebastian

Both features (view only selected images, keep selection over several pages) are not implemented yet. So this behavior is currently desired and correct.

Since the idea of phtagr is to enrich your photos with meta data and tag them individually with keywords, categories, or location to define some specific media sets, I would suggest you to keep your selection by tagging it and reference this keyword/category later. Note: You can also exclude tags by 'tag:-keyword' or shrink the selection by date tags of 'from' or 'to' to give your new selection new tags.

Technical answer: Currently, the site uses simple request-response pattern without javascript to keep a state (like selected images or next page) on the browser side. There might be an update for a SPA (Single Page Application) version.

Work, patches and git push requests are welcome.
