Photo brightness changed.

I am having a weird problem. After uploading a photo into phtagr, for some reason the brightness of the photo is changed to very dark.

Not sure what is causing this. Here is a screen shot of firefox with the website and using gqview to view the original. The same affect happens with Safari as well.

This same effect is on all photos.

Thanks for reporting the issue!

Someone reported a similar issue a month ago. My anwser:

I've downloaded your photo and imported on my machine with current phTagr and could not reproduce it. The image resize works fine.

phTagr uses either the GD library or ImageMagick? to resize images. So I guess that either GD or your convert from ImageMagick? cant resize the images correctly.

Maybe you can reproduce the incorrect preview generation on your machine on the command line? Can you cross check if your ImageMagick? converts your image correctly by

$ convert -resize 960 photo_84.JPG preview-high.jpg

I tried to find problems with GD and iPhone images via google (something like "php gd resize dark iphone problem") but without success. Regarding imagemagick with "imagemagick convert resize dark iphone problem" I found!topic/resourcespace/6GdYg0fFSjQ which reports some issues of dark previews with ImageMagick? 6.7.6

I have Ubuntu 12.04 with php 5.3.10, php-gd with libgd2-xpm 2.0.36, and ImageMagick? 8:

the reply of the other person:

am running IM 6.7.5-6 and cannot reproduce on command line
tried IM 6.7.9 but no difference still dark

OS is ubuntu 10.10
gd 2.0.36
php 5.3.3

not sure where else to look, was hoping to get it working, i want something to show geolocation of the photos

Could you try to reproduce the command line of resizing which should be listed in tmp/log/logger.log?

Used thumbnail library phpthumb was recently updatedt to version 1.7.11. Could you recheck this error if it still occurs?
