Reported by: TomG Owned by:
Priority: major Milestone: 2.4
Component: unspecified Version: trunk
Keywords: IE8 error Cc: embytime@gmail.com

Description

I've some trouble using MS IE8. All pictures are diplayed on startpage and explorer, but if I select one picture to see only this, the picture is displayed for one second an then only the webpages is shown. Could some overlay-css be to new for MS IE8 ? Firefox, Chrome and Safari works perfectly.

  • Resolution set to fixed

Thank you for this bug report. It is fixed in e3f5134a (followed by a small cleanup of bc6a026e).

It uses jQuery for window size evaluation and fixes also IE8.

Hi

I got the same problem with IE8 now. Works in IE9.

Since jQuery is used for resizing the image maybe a newer jQuery library might fix the problem?!

I've changed View/Layout/default.ctp at http://demo.phtagr.org to newest jQuery 1.8. Does IE8 still have the problem if you visit http://demo.phtagr.org/images/view/226/category:-screenshots/page:1/pos:4 ?

Hi

Thanks for the fast reply!

There is still no picture showing in IE8 when i view that page.

Unfortunately, I do not have IE8 and can not test is directly. I have only a win7 machine for testing purposes which comes with IE9.

I've changed again a bit the javascript code. Could you check again http://demo.phtagr.org/images/view/226/category:-screenshots/page:1/pos:4 if you still have an error with IE8?

Sorry for this inconvenience.

Hi,

Sorry for the slow respons. It works grate!

No need to apologize. I know you do this on your spare time, and I don't have IE8 myself. I have to ask a friend to test it for me.

You probably already know it but pushing F12 in IE9 gives you the possiblity to mimic IE7 and IE8. Until now the results has been consistent between mimicing IE8 in IE9 and the real IE8.

Thank your very much for testing!

I've committed my changes to github c467e12d which fixes the IE8 bug at image scaling. You can download the dev source at sourceforge/phtagr-2.2-dev-c467e12d.zip or newer version
