Usernames with special chars

Reported by: sebastian Owned by:
Priority: minor Milestone: 2.4
Component: unspecified Version: trunk

Description (last modified by sebastian) (diff)

According to the user model the username has only the restriction of char lengths. However the search component requires an alphaNumeric value to be valid.

Usernames with other chars like underscores, dots, or spaces are invalid but might be useful.

My suggestion is to set the validation of the username to /^[\w\d][\w\d .-_]+[\w\d]$/ which requires an alphaNumeric char at the beginning and at the end.
