Handle person tags as Person

Reported by: sebastian Owned by:
Priority: major Milestone: 2.4
Component: core Version:
Keywords: user, tag Cc: aapezzuto@gmail.com

Description

Other gallery software supports a special "person tag". The person tag is usually bound to an email address of the user and reflects more the social interaction of todays websites. These tags should also be introduced into phTagr, too. Maybe as additional person tag or as special flagged tag, which is bound to an Email. The relation of such tag and the email (as identity of a person) could be configured by the gallery users.

This feature might help phTagr newcomers to tag at least their pictures with the person tag. The person tag might support an image section or might use a face detection software.

Further, the persons could be informed more easy if the media has changed or a comment was added, like in Facebook.

"Person tags" require an unique ID, either local or global. Email addresses, and account names are common, as are phone numbers, SSNs, school or work id's etc. To handle this I would propose a multi-part system:

*Create a "Person Tag" profile database
*Allow the admin to create fields for the profile
*Allow profiles to be merged (we both know andy, bud I know his email, you know his facebook, eventually we may realize it is the same andy.)
*Allow for a short time merge recovery option (can undo the merge, but not pictures tagged sense then.)
*Allow users to create a "known person" listing, for use in auto-complete
*run a maintenance compare, seeing if any profiles have overlap (same value to fields that should be unique.) Allowing an admin to merge more easily.
